Sunshine sun shine down Moonrise raise the dead Minstrel don’t you cry now Honey fly you high Starlight light the fire Oceans fall down deep Minstrel, set a sail now Honey fly you high Wind gon howl Rain gon pour Honey fly high Honey fly home Kingdoms throw the crown Evenings set so low Minstrel, say goodbye now Honey fly you high Creek bed now run dry Turn face the stream Minstrel, light a candle Honey fly you high Hopeful fill the cup Hopeless fill the heart Minstrel raise a glass Honey fly you high Winter nights sting eyes Rider calm your mount Minstrel turned to stone Honey fly you high

From sunrise to duskfall I've toiled all day Won't be back 'til next fall I'm going away I'm sweetly reminded of all this once was The mist in the valley will hide all its flaws When the green evening light flows down that mountain gap I'll often think back on our day of sunset I rode through the darkness and watched night turn to grey I said I would call but we'd have nothing to say Because from dawnrise to duskfall I've toiled all day Won't be back 'til next fall I'm going away The lines around your eyes denote signs of unrest we won't meet again til that day of sunset No we won't meet again (When the green evening light flows down that mountain gap I'll often think back on our day of sunset) When the green evening light flows down that mountain gap And the night settles in on our day of sunset

When I was young found a nickel in a box Got hands in my pockets and holes in my socks I spent most of my life chasing after spare change I left it behind I can’t help but find it strange There’s a devil on my shoulder and he’s telling me to leave Got a life on the road I’m meant to lead Where Where do I find Something that’ll give me Some peace of mind And when When do we see How all this madness catches up to me Get up away get out of my sight you got something to give me, don’t make it all right Theres an angel on my shoulder and its got good intentions But I got more problems I dont want to mention There’s a devil on the other and he’s telling me to stay got to pack my bags, can’t let him win today Get up get out fly away in the night The roads calling my name, and I think it's time There’s an angel on my shoulder, trying to set me straight Id give it a thought but it’s probly too late Theres a devil on the other and he’s telling me to fight I think I'll flee instead til I can see the light

i'll meet you in the middle of low tide where the shimmering ocean reflects your sunglassed irises i'll see you when the sun rises when the parentheses in the sky say something not apparent to you or I or are they a pair of smiles a lion's mane such a sight to see escape city smog through the hills by the sea fumbling for phrases amidst a sea of faces far are the days where that phased us now i'm running through topanga past screaming cicadas i could dance all the way to davis i could dance all the way to davis woahooooo

about

If we ever end up in Texas, just know our entire life was just one really slow road trip to Texas. We have an album coming out with the turn of the decade, and as much as we wanted to turn it into a John Hartford tribute album, it ended up all originals.
Any Place is Home is based on the theme of being able to find a place wherever one may wander. The members of Donut Exchange are currently scattered around the world, and have been lucky enough to have found loving communities all around that have inspired the tracks on this album, including but not limited to Davis, Berlin, and Juneau. It was built from transatlantic voice memos and obscene amounts of caffeine. It features a warm blend of strings, percussion, electricity, utensils, and the occasional bagpipes. Recorded in the approximate week that the bandmates were on the same continent, it captures some of the magic and charm of sleepless nights spent playing tunes with the people you love.
